Carbon Cycle
The amount of carbon in the atmosphere and taken out of the atmosphere and the amount of carbon taken out of the atmosphere is naturally equal. Carbon is naturally released into the atmosphere by respiration and decomposition. There is an equal amount of carbon that is taken out of the atmosphere by the process of photosynthesis. When people burn fossil fuels, we add 9 extra megatons of carbon to the atmosphere. Photosynthesis is able to take in about 5 of these extra megatons. It may still result in about 4 megatons of carbon added to the atmosphere each year.
The Carbon cycle is the biological cycle by which carbon is exchanged among the biosphere. Along with the nitrogen cycle and also the water cycle, the carbon cycle is comprises a sequence of events. Carbon is crucial for life on earth.
